Christmas Money Lessons for Kids: 7 Holiday Activities
The holidays are full of money moments: lists, gifts, giving and deals. Use them to teach kids about choices, budgets and generosity without a lecture.
7 activities
- The wish list with prices. Kids write their list, then look up prices together and rank the top three.
- A gift budget for siblings. Give a small, fixed amount and let them plan who gets what.
- Needs, wants and wishes. Sort the list into three columns and talk about the difference.
- The giving jar. Let kids choose a cause for their Give money: a toy drive, a food bank or a church collection.
- Compare prices. Find the same toy in two stores and work out the difference.
- Make a gift. Cards, crafts or baked goods teach that value isn't only price.
- Thank-you notes. Gratitude is a money habit too.
